The Ecotourism Model Project for the Old Point Mangrove Regional Park, was developed under the cooperation agreement between the Corporation for the Sustainable Development of the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina (Coralina) and the School of Product Design of the Jorge University Tadeo Lozano.
The Ecotourism Model project for the Mangrove Regional Park of Old Point is an interactive experience that, from the design of articulated routes to the current infrastructure of the park, integrates traditional narrations and biological information of the natural heritage of the of Old Point Mangrove Regional Park.
The project has a Guide for Pedagogical Activities for Space Interaction at the Old Point Regional Mangrove Park; This guide defines a set of tools for the interpretation of biotic information and cultural contents of this ecosystem from an educational and interactive perspective. All this complemented by an information platform on a website that expands important aspects of the journey and can deepen the information of the ecosystem; this information is connected to the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve Observatory.
- Mediate the user’s experience with space.
- Integrate patrimonial value as an environmental education strategy.
- Enhance the model of eco-tourism management, counteracting traditional mass tourism.
The entrance to the Park is located on the San Luis Way (Mango tree section), 3km from the center, on the eastern side of the island.
The Park can be traversed under different platforms, in which you can interact with biotic communities.
